Arcades 2

A few fantastic arcade games from the near mythical Apothecary Arcade in London from the late 1800s!..... a wonderful and whimsical arcade full of mechanical marvels that would allow you to win prizes of various solvents, potions, tonics, and unguents.... such as laudanum and cocaine, or even a hair tonic that would supposedly grow your hair back! from the top: the top two are Taxidermist 1 and Taxidermist 2, whereupon you have to use the machine to perform taxidermy on various dead animals to win various prizes; the third one down is actually a medicinal vending machine, not a game per say; and the last one is a game called 'Soda Jerk' where you have to complete various recipes within time limits to advance to the next stage!.....the arcade burned down in an all consuming fire in 1904 but at least we have these photos...........

Astral Record Player 2

Hi all! It's the long awaited return of the Astral Record Players!......this one is in the (now abandoned) caravan wagon of one of the most legendary circus ringmasters Hans Wiedermeyer (he would later change his name to Hank Widowmaker when he toured in America).......his wagon always traveled next to the Fortune Teller Gypsy womans', they were very close, I'm told. Anyways, here is his miraculous machine that acts as almost a phonographic mood ring! You just look into the bright circle on the diamond shaped backdrop, and the phonograph will produce songs and sounds to suit your mood......super cool and sweet!

Arcades 1

The first installment of a Cosmic Arcade!.....a completely hallucinatory and imaginary place I'm hoping to round up, because arcades are one of my favorite places in the world (man made, at least).....this particular cabinet houses a game called 'Creation', where you move along, creating the world as you're moving through it, much like the 9 Princes In Amber can do in The Big Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny.......a wonderful and soothing machine which also has a nearly infinitely malleable soundtrack..........

Recollecting

Initially I wanted to name this track 'Demise of the Circus' because while I was making it I was feeling nostalgic for old traveling circuses and ancient purveyors of larger than life entertainment.....but it doesn't sound at all like a circus, and it does give me hauntology nostalgia vibes, so we went with Recollecting.......with drums, synth bass and strings, acoustic guitar, Rhodes piano, and some nature sounds.......enjoy!

Aurora

Greetings friends! This 3rd song for 2026 has a bit more of a band format/feel.....with drums and bass guitar, electric guitar, organ, synth(s),and a half speed section for the people in the back.......

Timeline of Imaginary Bands

Over the years, I have been in some crazy weird bands; let's take a look at some!

Up first, we have my high School band, Skullweaver, a frantic and feverish jazz/rock fusion of teenage madness, featuring Radd Boggzz (the very same one from my current band) on drums, and Jimson "Jimmy" Fisk on psychedelic and mind-bending trumpet. Jimmy was a monster and an absolute legend, and he died way too young, as legends often do...........you can see the neck of my bass as well as my amp on the left there.........skull and smoke effects provided by Jimmy's mom, who was way into horror and occult stuff!

Up next is a band that my sister Spelle and I formed in college called "In the Dark".....that's her on the right and me on the left......we played what we would describe as 'ambient sadness' hahaha! This photo was taken from the set of a music video we made for our song 'Pyramids'......the video never got finished, and this photo is all I have of that time.....

This is a band I formed with my old buddy Jack Cole, or 'Coleslaw', as I called him, which really was just a one-off for a Halloween party (me on the right)...... we called ourselves 'Twin Lizard', and were supposed to be a Thin Lizzy tribute band, but really we just got real drunk and played a two hour version of 'The Boys are Back in Town'.....it was most likely a terrible mess, but we had a blast!

A couple of promo poster pics of a band I was in with my ex girlfriend, Aja......we called it 'Angel and Her Demon'......we used a drum machine and played kind of heavy New Wave type stuff.....she had such a lovely and mysterious voice.....we played a bunch of shows but never recorded anything...... I wish I still had that outfit, especially the helmet! But it was all lost somewhere along this interminable journey....as was my Aja........

This is me and my trumpet buddy 'Zero'....we wore stone masks and stone gloves and called ourselves 'Stoned'.......another successful Halloween party masterpiece hahaha!.......thanks for taking this journey with me!

Love,

Zombonics

In honor of Friday 13th, we bring you Zombonics! Made completely "in the box" which is something I don't do that often...... when I was young, I would speak into the back of metal bladed room fans, and it made my voice sound all choppy and weird (iykyk)..... I used to call it "zombonic robo scissors", and this song reminds me of that for some reason. With lots of synthesizers, and a Linn Drum..... enjoy!
